Dreaming

•February 27, 2012 • Comments OffThis project brought up the best in me and I’m extremely happy about the results and the way my photos were received. The following piece is taken directly from the site of the gallery.
EDEN/No Man’s Land – part III.
“Eden”, the last part of the trilogy, was created by 2nd and 3rd year students from the Master’s in photography at the Media, Arts and Design Academy (MAD-faculty) in Genk. Together they wanted to demonstrate that positive initiatives do exist which try to limit the damage caused by our unbridled consumption. Here it is about the recuperation of some of our refuse in order to then treat, value or recycle it. The treating or recycling of this waste is done in the classic way. But valuing it can sometimes involve surprising, artistic methods.
The whole thing is an original patchwork as a result of the joining together of the sometimes extremely diverse points of view of these students, who have played along with a lot of enthusiasm.
Book Love
•January 15, 2012 • Comments OffWhile browsing the internet yesterday I stumbled upon my new love !
This book is part of the Barnes and Nobles leather-bound Classics, and all of the books in the series look amazing !
The book also reminds me that today is the season finale of BBC’s Sherlock. Apparently shit will be going down, so of course I’m very excited.
Horns
•January 10, 2012 • Comments Off Yesterday was the big day, and despite my fears everything went well !
It’s probably going to take a while before we get the grades. But in the meantime there’s enough to keep me busy, a lot of studying and the exams of course.
And after that it’s up to London, relaxing and some fun.
Being so busy I’ve hardly posted any of the work I’ve made.
One of the assignments was to make 3 pictures of the same object.
A general depiction of the object, one picture that highlights the structure of the object and an abstraction.
We weren’t allowed to move the camera or the object for the general depiction and structure photos, and also had to work with only one light source. There were no rules concerning the abstraction.
(all made with the technical camera)
Exhaustion
•January 5, 2012 • Comments Off As you could’ve guessed, it’s been quite a busy semester at school. So many assignments, so little time.
And now we have to wait until monday to see if all the hard work will pay off.
Of course it’s always worth something. Especially because I feel like I’ve learned so much in those few months, a lot more compared to the entire first year.
I would be lying if I would say I’m not nervous, but I’m proud of all the hard work I put in this semester.
We’ll see how it works out.
